Since last year, I've read how NYFW is losing it's momentum... but hold on, as I never been there I can really say, although among my favourite reads for the Fashion Week(s) Season, comes from BoF (Business of Fashion) as well the whitty and oh so stylish Susie Lau & Bryanboy as well as veteran fashion journalist Suzy Menkes. So all of this professionals have different opinions, after some research and looking a bit at the data, it seems that like on other scope where culture and social media merge or collapse, the traditional FASHION WEEK, might see some changes in the next few years, I mean even more changes... Like with other kind of artists, there are plenty of creative and brilliant designers. Most of them don't make it to the FW, wherever that might be, or if they do so, are mostly on off show spaces, with little but engage audience. Social Media and this digital era we are in, Amazon wise, etc etc. is providing new opportunities, but reaching and engaging those potential customers, remains as challenge as the world and our attention span fills with information non-stop. Time and consumers will tell... Below some really neat Street Styles from NY... pics from FT, British Vogue, Telegraph and 10Magazine. |
